Academics
Throughout its extensive history, Squadron Three has proven itself as a successful academic outfit within the University and Corps structure. For the 2009-2010 school year we are lucky enough to have an extraordinarily talented command structure for both outfit and 1st Wing scholastics. What this translates into is a very strong and established system designed to ensure that each cadet has the resources to reach his/her personal academic goals. In the past, SQ-3 graduates have gone on to fulfill important roles in both the military and civilian sectors. We are committed to making sure that each of our graduates has the academic experience necessary to be successful in whichever field they aspire to work in. Over all, we aspire to set ourselves apart as a highly demanding outfit in all “Corps” related activities, while maintaining a healthy and effective environment for individual scholastic development.
One of the only Non-Technical outfits in the First Wing. In Squadron 3 you can expect an emphasis on scholastics, after all, even if you max out your Physical Fitness Test you can't be an officer without the grades.
In Squadron 3 you can expect to have plenty of time devoted to study. This takes place in the form of Call To Quarters and other academic allotted time.
The Thunderbirds are proud to say that we placed 5th in the Corps for grades with an overall GPR of 3.0452. The nearest other Air Force ROTC outfit was at 10th place.
Even better was that our Thunderbird fish had a GPR of 3.31!
"Our outfit's main priority is academics."
