Information for Parents

Dear Perspective T-Bird fish and Parents,


My name is Cadet Major Benjamin Flores, and I will be the Commanding Officer of Squadron 3 for school year 2009-2010. I am very pleased that you have decided to consider my outfit as possible home for your/your son’s or daughter’s development as a student, and a leader while at Texas A&M University.

Squadron 3 or Thunderbird 3 has a proud 10 year history of producing great leaders not just within the Corps and the University as a whole, but in the military and private sector. The main focuses of Squadron 3 for this coming academic year will be Unity, Scholastics, Recruiting and Community Service. With these four main areas in mind, we will focus our energies to becoming leaders in these areas not only with in our major unit the First Wing, but in the Corps as a whole.

This website offers a wide array of information about Squadron 3 that can give you a taste of our accomplishments and “outfit culture.” We are an outfit that demands a lot on a physical level with things such as PT and intramural sports, but also mentally. We expect I high degree of academic excellence, and the ability to overcome the mental stresses that will be placed on you/your sons and daughters as a fish in the Corps.

My outfit’s motto is “ONLY THE BEST!” That is a phrase that every Thunderbird is very proud of. We expect every member of the outfit to be the very best that they can be in everything from academics to PT. I look forward to meeting you this summer. I will be at the new student conferences either at the Pizza luncheon or at the ice cream social. I look forward to meeting you, and I hope that you will strongly consider Thunderbird 3 and continue our legacy of producing the BEST student leaders!
